Turn thrift store clothes into your own fashion designs. Learn sewing, creativity, and sustainable fashion in a fun hands-on class.

Thank you for enrolling in our classes. We will make sure you’ll have fun and a great learning experience. Our promise is to make sewing your new passion. And if you chose to move forward in a professional manner, we are here to help and guide you.

Class Fees can be payed by Venmo or Zelle.

Cancellations Due to small classes we can not refund unless you cancel 4 weeks in advance.

Arrive on Time Please arrive on time to make sure you will receive the full learning experience.

Make Up Lessons There are no make up classes due to absences. It is impossible for us to rearrange our schedules.

If a class is canceled due to low enrollment, registered students will receive a full refund or credit for another class, whichever is preferred.

Parking On the property. Double park behind the other cars, as they are all in the same class.

What happens:
1. Teens pick a thrift item
2. I teach 1–2 simple transformations
3. They redesign their piece
4. Photo session at the end
Music, snacks, creativity.
It feels more like a creative hangout than a class.

Design your own fashion from thrift store clothes.
Teens learn:

Each student takes old clothes and turns them into something stylish and unique.

Thrift Fashion Design Program for Teens Total structure: 3 times 6 weeks**
This program teaches teens how to **sew, redesign thrift clothing, and create original fashion pieces** using sustainable materials.
Students progress through three levels:

You’ll learn all the essentials of sewing in one fun project!
What You’ll Learn:
• How to set up and thread a sewing machine
• Practice basic stitches and techniques
• Create a simple fun drawstring bag using foundational sewing skills
Kids always have little collections of random possessions. With this tutorial they can make their own DIY drawstring bags to store their treasures!
Skill Level: Beginner or refresher

• Week 1: Pillow case or knitted top
• Week 2: Learn how to use a pattern & cut
• Week 3 & 4: sew a valance & learn about drapes OR
Sew a skirt in your size with inseam pockets and an elasticated waistband, finishing with hemming to your desired length

• PDF instructions for the projects, so you can practice at home.

Ready to take your sewing skills to the next level?
Skill Level: Advanced Beginner (must have completed the beginner sewing series or equivalent)
What You’ll Learn:

Week 1: Intro to Pattern Making – Take your own measurements, draft a pattern for a simple boxy tee, and test the fit in muslin. Discuss fabric choices for Week 2.
• Week 2: Cut and sew the top you designed in Week 1.
• Week 3: Sew a T-shirt – Learn about working with knit fabrics and gain more experience using sergers/overlockers.
• Week 4: Alterations & Mending – Bring garments from home that need hems, mending, or simple edits. Use this time to complete any unfinished hems from the previous weeks. -

ALTERATION WORKSHOP

Alter and refresh your garments!
Skill Level: Basic sewing skills required
What You’ll Learn:

Brainstorming and problem-solving garment alterations with fellow students
• Step-by-step instructions on how to modify and alter your clothes
• Mending techniques to repair and restore worn or damaged clothing
Bring 3-6 garments that need attention, whether it’s for alterations or repairs. This is also a great space for students attending Open Studio.
Materials Needed: 3-6 garments for alteration/mending, Fabric and personal patterns if you are attending OPEN STUDIO
Join us and give your wardrobe a second life, while learning valuable sewing and mending skills!

We teach you all the fundamentals of sewing.
What You’ll Learn:
• Threading a sewing machine and working with basic stitches
• Familiarization with sewing tools and equipment
• Sewing 3 x projects with simple construction
Projects:
- day 1: get used to a sewing machine and practice stitching a pillow case
• day 2: learn hand stitching and practicing on the machine creating a monster doll
• day 3,4 & 5: Cut and sew a pair of pants in your size with an elasticated waistband.
Materials Provided:
• PDF instructions for the tote bag and zippered pouch, so you can practice at home.
Skill Level: No previous sewing experience needed
